BAE Goes Green!

We are please to announce that BAE was certified as a Green Business by the Alameda County Green Business Certification in May 2007.  This means that we have been evaluated for our ongoing sustainable business practices, including efficient lighting, recycling, reduction of energy use, encouragement of employee alternative commute methods, and use of green cleaning products.

Sherry Rudnak, Sernior Associate, is a LEED Accredited Professional (AP)

We are also pleased to announce that Sherry Rudnak, Senior Associate, has become the first BAE employee to become a LEED Accredited Professional.  This means that Sherry has passed the education and testing process and is an expert in green building and neighborhood development as certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.  We are rapidly integrating global warming reduction concepts into all of our work, with Sherry using her skills to lead the way.

Negotiations Support to Major Public-Private Partnerships
BAE is continuing its work to support the Port of San Francisco to create a recreation/office/mixed-use destination project at Piers 27-31 on the San Francisco waterfront.  We are also continuing to negotiate leases and conduct long range real estate development planning for NASA Ames and the NASA Research Park in the heart of Silicon Valley.  One of our TOD projects, Baltimore State Center, is reaching implementation stage with the review and selection of a master developer for this mixed-use project in downtown Baltimore.  And, from 1991 until today, we continue to assist the National Park Service at the Presidio and the entire Golden Gate National Recreation Area with real estate advisory services and business planning.

BAE is TOD
BAE recently completed more than 20 transit oriented development and station area plans, including work for BART at Lake Merritt and Daly City, for VTA at Santa Clara, for METRO and MDOT at West Hyattsville, New Carrollton, and Baltimore State Center.  We also participated in a major national study of TOD for the Transportation Cooperative Research Program available at: www4.trb.org/trb/crp.nsf/All+Projects/TCRP+H-27.  Also, see our work on statewide case studies of successful TOD projects, showcased in "California Transit-Oriented Development Study: Factors for Success" at www.dot.ca.gov/hq/MassTrans/tod.htm.  And finally, we continue to celebrate the success of one of our first TOD strategies, leading to the creation of the Richmond Transit Village
